Reporter Anne Laufe came into the salon a couple of weeks ago to talk to owner Jamie Dohrmann about running an eco-friendly business. The article refers to our unique foil recycling system, which reduces about 200 pounds of landfill waste annually.
Not only do we recycle our foil, but we also recycle our hair clippings! Matter of Trust, a California based company, uses the hair to soak up oil spills.
Lastly, the article talks about Jamie’s goals for the future, such as setting up a network of sustainable salons.

NEW FACIAL SERVICES
Visual F/X salon is proud to provide two new facial services! Inna, our part-time estition, is now offering an anti-aging facial and summer hydration facial. Both facials use high-quality Yonka products and are priced at $90.
Inna’s anti-aging facial features Yonka’s “Advanced Optimizer Anti-Aging Firming Programme,” is designed to “coach” skin in battling damage caused by aging. SLABTOWN FESTIVAL
We spent part of our morning at Visual F/X Salon creating a beautiful gift basket for the 2009 Slabtown Community Festival! The event will benefit Friendly House and will take place Sept 19th, 12-6 p.m., on 23 Ave and Savier St.
Friendly House was founded in 1930 in NW Portland. The organization has continued to enrich the lives of community members by bringing people together through services, events and educational classes.
