RECYCLING REWARD PROGRAM
We want to end this year by continuing to support our ’09 new year’s resolution of being an eco-friendly salon. This value of sustainability has ultimately become part of the mission of the salon, and something we want to continue to place importance on in the coming year and decade.
As an eco-friendly salon we already recycle all of our paper, plastic, cardboard and even our used foils and hair clippings! We are the only salon in Portland that recycles both our foils and hair clippings. I’m guessing you’re probably curious about how we recycle hair. It’s donated to an organization that makes mats out of the hair, which are used to soak up oil spills. Two good deeds in one sustainable action!
We want to encourage our patrons to recycle their used product containers, and we plan on rewarding you for it. Additionally, as a salon we’ve been fading out our Pureology line and encouraging clients to use the Goldwell Color IQ line, which is specifically formulated for colored hair and is proven to help your color stay brighter for longer!
So… here’s the deal everyone can benefit from (yes, even Mother Earth). NEW YEAR’S HAIR

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE X-MAS…
Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the salon
Not a creature was stirring, not even a swan.
The scissors were hung by the stations with care,
In hopes that the hair fairy soon would be there.
The clients were nestled all snug in their robes,
While visions of trimmed bangs filled their occipital lobes.
And stylists in their aprons, and I in my Ferrari, (ha ha)
Had just settled our brains for a fabulous winter’s party.
When out on the parking lot there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the desk to see what was the matter.
Away from the reception area I flew like a flash,
Threw open the doors and grabbed a bag of trash.
The moon on the breast of the cars in the snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer.
With a sassy little driver, so lively and merry,
I knew in a moment it must be the hair fairy.
More rapid than eagles her coursers they came,
And she whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!
“Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky.
So up to the salon roof the coursers they flew,
With the sleigh full of hair products, and the hair fairy, too.
And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof,
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney the hair fairy came with a bound.
She was dressed all in fur, from her foot to her eye,
And her clothes were all stained with blond and red hair dye.
A gift of Bumble shampoo she had flung in her purse,
And she looked like a diva, grabbing samples to disperse.
Her eyes-how they twinkled! Her dimples how merry!
Her locks the color of cherry, which is why she’s the hair fairy!
Her lip-lined little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the jewels on her shears were shining-a-glow.
An array of fine hair products she held in her hands,
As she swept off the ground some freshly cut blond strands.
She had a cute face, although a little round belly,
That shook when she danced, like a bowlful of jelly!
She was tiny and lively, a right jolly old elf,
And I laughed when I saw her, in spite of myself!
A wink of her eye and a twist of her head,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
And filled all the shelves, then turned with a jerk.
And laying her finger aside of her nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney she rose!
She sprang to her sleigh, to her team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard her exclaim, ‘ere she drove out of sight,
“Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!”

We’re dropping off our donated toys and books tomorrow morning! Tune into Fox 12 news at between 7:45 and 8:15 to watch Jamie and Tess drop off the toys at the Portland Fire Bureau Toy and Joy Warehouse.
We’d like to thank all of our patrons for participating in our toy and book drive. We collected a good amount of toys, which we will be proud to donate on behalf of our clients and stylists.
Even though our toy and book drive is over we’d like to encourage our clients to continue to find ways to give to others this holiday season. We know your donations already made will help make these upcoming holidays even more special for children in the Portland area.
Just a reminder that our holiday party is this Saturday at seven at the salon. We’d like to take this opportunity to show our thanks to our wonderful patrons. We hope to see everyone there!

We’re having a holiday party and we’d love all of you to join us! We’re having an open house on Saturday December 19th beginning at 7 p.m.
Come to the salon for great music, food, drinks and company! We want to show all of our amazing patrons how much we appreciate you, and what better way to do that than a party?
The owner will provide drinks and dessert, and employees are bringing appetizers and savory dishes. Please bring something to share if you feel inclined, it will be appreciated! We hope to see you all here.
And please help us give back by bringing a toy or book to donate to children in need this season in the Portland area. All donations will be dropped off 12/15 (am) and will go to the Toy N Joy Drive. All toys must be new and unwrapped.
